There is one year to go until the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP-30), which will take place from November 10 to 21, 2025, in Belém, Pará. More than 60,000 people are expected to attend, including heads of state, diplomats, businesspeople, investors, activists and delegations from the 193 member countries. In view of this, the federal government is stepping up preparations.
The investment, estimated at R$4.7 billion, comes from resources from the General Budget of the Union, BNDES and Itaipu, and will be allocated to a series of projects to meet the growing demand for transportation, accommodation and suitable spaces for holding the Summit. COP-30 positions Brazil as a catalyst for discussions on global and regional environmental issues, such as reducing greenhouse gases, adapting to climate change and financing for developing countries.
